Coasting in Your Faith: Should Christians Break the Grind?

A while back our daughter’s high school did something unusual. Leading up to the stressful days of exams, all 1500 students in the high school were encouraged to forget life as usual and ‘break the grind’, for one day anyway. In theory, it sounds like a good way to refocus and rejuvenate the spirit. But what happens when someone adopts this position as a way of life? When a Christian, for instance, chooses to reject the grind and coast in their faith… never even preparing for the exams that are sure to come? That is an option Peter and the apostles never gave into. And in our reading for today, we find out why.

Today’s Reading
