Grief, Sorrow, and the Purest Form of Compassion

There’s never been a time that God hasn’t felt your pain – never a moment that you’ve suffered alone. This is what we are taught in John chapter 11, and this type of compassion for others is what we should all strive for in our daily life. When it comes to grief and sorrow, I have personally witnessed the purest form of compassion. And it was that type of compassion for others that moves Jesus to tears.

Today’s Reading

“When Mary came to the place where Jesus was and saw Him, she dropped down at His feet, saying to Him, ‘Lord, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.’ When Jesus saw her sobbing, and the Jews who came with her [also] sobbing, He was deeply moved in spirit … And … Jesus wept.” – John 11:32-35
