The Birth of Christianity and our Universal Need for Redemption

As we’re finishing up the last half of Acts chapter 11, we discover that these verses detail a vital stage in the growth of the early church in the region of Antioch. It was at this exact point in history that the word “Christian” was adopted. And while it was in the city of Antioch that the title of “Christian” was born, certainly the need for a Redeemer wasn’t born there.

Today’s Reading

“Both of them stayed there with the church for a full year, teaching great numbers of people. (It was there at Antioch that the believers were first called Christians.)” – Acts 11:26b
