We Need to Keep Pointing People to Jesus

As we’re looking into the third chapter of Acts we find that, through the power of God’s Holy Spirit, Peter and John had just healed a very familiar beggar. Instead of basking in the glow of the people’s admiration, Peter gave all the glory to God. That’s because we are not the stars. So where should our focus be? Jesus will not share the glory with anyone, nor should He. It’s up to us to, like Peter, keep our priorities in line. The “event” is not “the thing.” It’s the name and power of Jesus – our faith in Him -that changes lives in a world He loves so much. And we need to keep pointing people towards that.

Today’s Reading

“The name of Jesus has healed this man – and you know how lame he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has caused this healing before your very eyes.” – Acts 3:16
