What Does God Want Us to Do?

As we’ll discover in our reading today, Jesus was sent to bring eternal life. It’s an attention grabbing statement, which immediately raises another question: “What does God want us to do?” The answer to that is simple in theory, but hard for some in practice. Fortunately, we can find inspiration from a surprising source – an extremely vocal agnostic and opponent of Christianity, Lew Wallace.

Today’s Reading

“The truth is, you want to be with Me because I fed you, not because you saw the miraculous sign. But you shouldn’t be so concerned about perishable things like food. Spend your energy seeking the eternal life that I, the Son of Man, can give you. For God the Father has sent Me for that very purpose.” – John 6:26, 27
