The Love of the Game with Jacob Pries

Sometimes life throws you a curveball and for our guest this week that can be taken both literally and figuretively. This week’s “Why Me” comes from Jacob Pries, a former pitcher for the Edmonton Prospects and the Wooster Fighting Scots. He really opens up about his passion for the sport of baseball, utilizing his gifts and platform to live a Christian life, and coming to terms when God changes your course.

What we talk about:

  • life having a father in law enforcement
  • being a Christian Athlete and using his platform
  • realizing his baseball potential and his love for the game
  • dealing with his current injury
  • what is next in life, and how his love for law is in his near future

“I couldn’t risk a major injury. I couldn’t do that to my family, to myself. I want to be able to throw with my kids one day. One of the toughest decisions I had to make, because baseball is my life. But God has a plan for me.”
