Christian History: Henry van Dyke

A musical collaboration between Ludwig van Beethoven and a pastor poet gave us one of the most joyous hymns of all time. Henry van Dyke was born November 10, 1852, in Germantown, Pennsylvania. With quite the varied career, Henry wrote “Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee” after gazing on the beauty of the Berkshire Mountains.
