A storm at seas was the first of many trials for John Yates, who was traveling with his family when he was thrown across the ship’s deck, breaking his leg. The young man also fell a great height from hotel steps, fracturing his skull. At sixteen, while acting in a play, he fell on an open knife, piercing his lungs. Other tragedies followed. His wife and two sons all died the same week from diphtheria. It begs the question: would you question God’s goodness?
