Hi and thanks for visiting. The short story is I’m a professional writer living and working in Abbotsford, BC Canada.
When I’m not blogging I’m thinking about blogging or researching for blogs or…well you get the idea. Pretty much I love blogging. And writing. And researching.
How do you know you’ll like this blog? Well here are a few filter questions:
• Do you have a sense of humour?
• Do you like the word “hyperbole” and know how to use it?
• Are you curious about what I’m up to?
• Would you like to see a behind-the-scenes look at a writer’s life?
If you’ve answered “yes” even once I think we’ll become good friends.
Here’s a bit about me: I set out to be a radio DJ but eventually I settled on a bachelor of journalism and a career with the written word—although I still think I’ll have a podcast one day. Since I graduated university I spent a few years travelling around the world, working odd jobs, and now I spend my days as copy writer/audio broadcast producer at a non-profit and my nights working freelance. It’s busy and fun and crazy.
My blog is affectionately nicknamed Arbynblog. It was born in 2005 as an effort to discover “what this blogging thing is all about.” I could say the rest is history but that’s not quite accurate. If these years have taught me anything it’s that writing is hard work—and just because you love something doesn’t mean it will all come together the way you want it to. No, this blog has shown me life is unexpected to say the least.
I’d love for you to join me on my journey of self-discovery. Hopefully we can support each other along the way and maybe even teach each other a thing or two.
