Growing up in Nova Scotia and with a church community around her, Naomi Striemer dreamed of becoming a pop singer and recorded her first album at age 11. With her father working as her manager while she was home-schooled, her parents supported her gifts as she travelled down an exciting winding path towards fame and fortune. Until an encounter with a total stranger helped illuminate a different road. Her true path.

We talk to Naomi from her home in Tennessee about her memories of growing up on a farm, her first major record deal at 18-years old with Epic/Sony Records, and working with influential people in the music industry; like guitar legend Carlos Santana, producer Narada Michael Walden (Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder) and American Idol’s favourite judge Randy Jackson. Billboard Magazine wrote: “Do you remember the first time you heard Whitney, Mariah or Celine…” when describing Naomi’s voice in the review of her debut single!

So why did she leave the world of secular music to pursue her own ministry serving the Lord? We found out in our conversation with this engaging and gifted woman of God.
