Melba Pattillo Beals’ Story of Breaking the Color Barrier

Even if you don’t know her name, you probably know Melba Pattillo Beals. She is a member of the Little Rock Nine, a group of African-American students who were the first to integrate Central High in Little Rock, Arkansas. Because of this, Melba faced telephone threats, brigades of attacking mothers, rogue police, fireball and acid-throwing attacks, economic blackmail, and even a price upon her head. But that journey saw Melba Beals emerged with indestructible faith, courage, strength, and hope. She opens up about it all on this episode of  Your Story with Melinda.
