Last month, on the popular women’s talk show, The View, there was a heated discussion about a claim by U.S. Vice President Mike Pence, that he engages in conversation with Jesus, and hears from him. Joy Behar said, “It’s one thing to talk to Jesus. It’s another thing when Jesus talks to you. That’s called mental illness, if I’m not correct, hearing voices.”

You can watch the full clip below but I wanted to dissect her statements a little bit on this Hugs From Heaven podcast. Listen above to hear why we can expect opposition to our faith, and what God’s Word says about how we should handle it.

Instant Takeaways

  1. Prayer is meant to be a two-way conversation with God. Even if those unfamiliar with the connection don’t think so.
  2. Jesus defends Himself. It should be no surprise that Jesus divides a crowd, the Bible teaches us to expect opposition to our faith. But there’s no need to get angry because Jesus defends Himself.
